The ORTOVOX PEAK LIGHT 38S backpack is a lightweight and durable technical backpack that has nothing extra, but on which you can attach a large amount of equipment from trekking poles, to rope, ice axes to skis. The innovative SWISSWOOL HYBRID BACK SYSTEM is very comfortable and is only available in ORTOVOX PEAK LIGHT models.
You can access the main compartment of the backpack through two entrances. The first option is to unzip the entire front of the backpack using a two-way perimeter zipper similar to a suitcase. The second option is through the SIMPLY & FAS T pull collar under the top lid of the backpack. Thanks to the bright interior, you can easily find everything you need.
For those who want to save even more weight, there is the option to remove several elements from the backpack. You can lighten the backpack by removing the backpack lid, removable hip belt padding, removable duralumin back structure, ice axe attachment and D-Skifix ski attachment. This way you can reduce the already low weight of the backpack by another 30%.
For sustainability , the outer materials are made of 50% recycled polyamide 420D RIPSTOP and 100% recycled polyamide 420D , making the backpack extremely robust, abrasion-resistant and durable. It is also highly water-resistant and dries very quickly.
The weight distribution on the shoulders and hips is ensured by the reinforcements in the back system. The shoulder straps are ergonomically adjusted to the body. You can tighten these straps not only from below, but also from above and better adjust the backpack to your body. The hip belt smoothly passes directly from the back system and literally hugs you. You don't feel the connection between the hip belt and the backpack, the backpack is comfortable to wear and nothing presses on you, no matter how much you carry. When the backpack is not full, you can simply tighten it using the side tightening straps.
The backpack has several practical pockets . Each compartment and pocket has its own purpose and allows you to have things at hand whenever you need them. The space inside the main chamber offers a place to attach avalanche equipment - a shovel and a probe. The main chamber has a clip for attaching a water reservoir with the option of leading the hose through the middle of the backpack between the shoulder straps. Front zipper pocket - for a map, topo and compass. Outer lid pocket for storing active accessories, it includes a plastic carabiner for keys. Inner lid pocket for storing small equipment - a headlamp, knife, documents, cash and valuables. The pocket on the hip belt is suitable for a mobile phone, camera, GPS. The lid of the backpack has a sewn-in pocket with an EMERGENCY CARD - a card with personal and health data. The hip belt has removable padding with a loop for additional material. There is a whistle on the height-adjustable chest strap for signaling.
You can attach all your equipment for alpine hiking, mountaineering and ski mountaineering to PEAK LIGHT backpacks. Each piece of equipment has its place, is securely attached, and folding is quick and easy. The equipment doesn't wobble and the backpack won't throw you off balance.
One of the advantages of the ORTOVOX PEAK LIGHT backpacks is the SWISSWOOL HYBRID BACK SYSTEM, which combines premium materials and the latest technologies. The back system consists of a removable duralumin construction, technical foam and three zones of pressed SWISSWOO L wool - in the place where the most frequent contact with the back occurs. The wool absorbs 29 times more sweat than a regular foam back and does not cool down as much as other materials. Physiotherapists also participated in the development of this back system with the ORTOVOX developers.
