SALEWA

The Salewa brand was founded by Josef Liebhart in 1952 in Munich as a factory for the production of leather saddlery products. The name comes from the abbreviation: "SAttler LEder WAren" - saddlery leather products.
However, the eagle has been in the emblem since 1979, when it was chosen as a symbol of the quality and wide range of its products under the wings of an international corporation. However, at the very beginning, during the war years, Salewa concentrated primarily on the production of leather and textile products. Very soon she developed her first rucksack with steel tube construction, but the biggest interest was in her hazel ski poles.

Today, the Salewa brand belongs to the leading outdoor manufacturers of high-quality sportswear, trekking shoes, equipment for hiking and mountaineering.
