The MAURTEN Drink Mix 160 hydrogel drink contains everything you need for running - carbohydrates and hydration.
When mixed with water, you get a liquid sports drink with a high concentration of maltodextrin and fructose. The sports drink immediately turns into a hydrogel in the acidity of the stomach. The hydrogel allows the drink to be smoothly transported through the stomach and into the intestine, where water, salt and carbohydrates are absorbed.
Studies have shown that our bodies can utilize up to 90 grams of carbohydrates per hour. One Drink Mix 160 sachet, mixed with 500 ml of water – contains 40 grams of carbohydrates.
