The 1 m depth marking decides for you which direction to dig from. Digging from the side if the marking is under the snow, or digging from above if the marking is above the snow surface. This recommendation is based on the latest IKAR methodological guidelines. When digging, the penultimate blue part serves as a warning that you are approaching the buried part. The last Neon-orange part at the end of the probe is a warning to dig carefully and not injure the buried. The probe has depth markings of 5 cm.
