The Coghlans brand was founded more than 60 years ago by Norm Coghlan, while his first product was a toaster for gas camping stoves. Norm's outdoor equipment adventure began in 1959 when he bought a small plot of land in Winnipeg, Canada and opened his own business. Initially, it focused on gas heating products. However, its range soon included hiking equipment such as tents, sleeping bags and air mattresses. Many customers from the tourism industry have asked about the possibility of making toast on a travel stove. The toasters tested in the US sold well, but at some point the manufacturer stopped making them. Norm therefore rented suitable warehouses and bought up all the remaining stock of toasters.
