What do an avalanche probe, soft merino and a durable waterproof membrane have in common? After all, ORTOVOX ! The German company began to write its story in 1976, thanks to the two founders Gerald Kampe and Jürgen Wegner, who came up with the prototype of the ORTOVOX F2 avalanche seeker, which it launched in 1980. In 1985, Gerald developed a snowpack and a snow shovel that are functional and used to this day, which testifies to the high quality of these products. Gradually, however, its range expanded considerably. Avalanche backpacks came, but especially clothing with wool, which made the brand famous. Today, ORTOVOX is an important player both in the field of avalanche protection and prevention, as well as a manufacturer of great functional items with merino wool.
